A Part Together
Made for the Bigmode game jam 2025, with the theme of `power`. A Part Together approaches the the theme of `power` in the traditional platformer sense of a power being an ability. Such as Mario's ability to shoot fireballs after picking up the flower power upgrade. In A Part Together you take and combine various different robot-animal parts to help explore and combat the world. Each part has their own unique set of powers.
I highly recommend you play with a controller. The game was partially an experiment with momentum based platforming, you'll want the analog movement from a controller.
Story:
The year is 2946 and a mega hacker's dog has passed away, Pepe. The hacker did the only thing possible, they hacked to bring him back. After breaking into a top secret government zoo the hacker revived Pepe into a superior robot form, but everything went wrong when Annoying Bird messed up the plans. Scattering Pepe's robo parts throughout the research zoo. The mega hacker's vast intellect puts him above venturing into a zoo to re-assemble Pepe. Its up to you to reassemble Pepe and defeat Annoying Bird.

Controls:
Highly recommend you play with a controller. To get the controller to work, plug in your controller, stop touching the mouse and keyboard, and click a few buttons on the controller until your browser auto-switches control of the game to it.
- Left joystick / WASD for movement
- Right joystick / Mouse for camera
- South (bottom) button / Space for leg power (Jump and fly)
- West (left) button / Left trigger / F for head power (Biting)
- East (right) button / Right trigger / Shift / C for arm power (Shooting)
- North (top) button / E for interacting (Picking up parts)
Goals:
- Find Pepe's head, could be in a barn somewhere
- Find Pepe's legs, reports indicate its in the mountains
- Find Pepe's head, something about a lake but I think theres more
- Find Pepe's wings, ...
- H. A. B. (Handle Annoying Bird)
Dev notes:
Marketing aside, with this game jam I wanted to test out two things. How fun it was to combine different animal parts to achieve adapt to challanges and how well does momentum work in a platformer. It would have been better to just chose one of these, but here we are.
